Here's the inspired poem I mentioned in my recent blog entry, Share.YourSPARKS.com (friends only).
Inspired because I did not plan to write this... I just wrote it suddenly & the result was beyond my expectations (even though I didn't have any). It was one of those magical moments when everything fell into place...
The poem was written in a matter of minutes & became a bookmark/talisman in less than an hour. Much gratitude goes to Jill for suggesting I turn this into a bookmark :-)

Contribution Details
When you make a contribution you'll receive the following set:
1) A gold (maybe you see it as yellow or orange) colour JPEG version bookmark/talisman
2) A gold colour GIF version bookmark/talisman
3) A 2 page PDF file, printable on A4 paper
a) Page 1 is a set of 5 bookmarks/talismans on white background for printing on colour (gold or yellow is recommended) paper
b) Page 2 is a set of 5 bookmarks/talismans on gold background for printing on plain paper
P.S. If you are in a position to help me publish & share this little SPARK further, please do not hesitate to write to me & let me know what format you need. I'm really hoping to get this poem out to as many people as possible via whatever medium, magazines, books, ezines, newletters, ebooks etc.

As the Buddha was dying,
Ananda asked
who would be their teacher after death.
He replied to his disciple…
"Be lamps unto yourselves.
Be refuges unto yourselves.
Take yourself no external refuge.
Hold fast to the truth as a lamp.
Hold fast to the truth as a refuge.
Look not for a refuge in anyone besides yourselves.
And those, Ananda, who either now or after I am dead,
Shall be a lamp unto themselves,
Shall betake themselves as no external refuge,
But holding fast to the truth as their lamp,
Holding fast to the truth as their refuge,
Shall not look for refuge to anyone else besides themselves,
It is they who shall reach to the very topmost height;
But they must be anxious to learn."

I would love to see this on a poster, i can hang in the most used part of my home, for everyone who visits & resides. It is so beautiful.
its very nice, like all the greatest works, they appear suddenly and you have to be stealthy to catch them…
inspiring words that seem to belong together as they flow so easily from my lips.

Wow, your poem is an insparation that brings insparation! Thank you so much for sharing it.
It's funny, for more than 5 years I was obsesively and hopelessly in love with a guy who's nick-name is Lampa, or Lamp, and friends would often mention that Buda's sentence, as “Be the lamp to yourself”. The moment I finally accepted that, it started to get better to me, and is going better and better day by day. Here's a good one, too: “I love where I am, I love what I am, I love who I am and I love all I AM.” Blessings!
