Goodness Quest

Goodness Quest is a very simple but powerful game that can transform your life. Play it daily, either alone or with your friends, for at least 21 consecutive days for maximum impact.

This game works by shifting your state of awareness, which is extremely powerful for sparking a transformation because "From any given state of consciousness some things are possible and others are not. Some things can be perceived and some cannot. Some things can be known and others cannot." ~ Robert L. Spencer

Before you embark on this quest, you'll be equipped with some 'weapons' :-)

Weapons
Gratitude Goggles (G2)
Appreciation Antenna (A2)
Zaadz Zoom (Z2)

How to Play
Use your Gratitude Goggles to identify someone, something or some situation toward which you feel grateful.

Use your Appreciation Antenna to identify someone, something or some situation toward which you feel sincere admiration.

Zaadz Zoom is inspired by the following quotation from Napoleon Hill. With Zaadz Zoom, the intention is to recognize the seed and realize its full potential.

"Every adversity carries with it the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit." ~ Napoleon Hill

Use your Zaadz Zoom to identify someone, something or some situation in which you see potential and for which you envision future possibilities beyond what is immediately obvious.

Record all your findings in your Goodness Quest Journal, one item per line. Label each item with G2, A2 or Z2.

Each G2 item is worth 1 point, each A2 item is worth 2 points and each Z2 item is worth 3 points.

The basic intention of Goodness Quest is to help you access a state of Gratitude and Appreciation, from which something else becomes possible.

The advance intention of Goodness Quest is to help you live a passionate, positive and fulfilling life that is filled with joy and happiness.

To actualize the advance intention, you are required to go beyond recording your findings in your Goodness Quest Journal... You are to share your findings with your subject so that he/she may recognize and realize his/her potential. This is the philosophy of Ignite & Share Your SPARKSTM. First igniting Your SPARKS, then through Sharing of Your SPARKS, you ignite the SPARKS in another and the fire burns on...

Hence, when you share your findings with your subject, multiply your original points for that item by 3.

Collect as many points as you can each day. If you are playing alone, compare today's score with yesterday's and aim to win yourself. If you are playing with a group of friends, whoever with the highest total score at the end of 21 days, wins. You can also identify a winner for the highest daily score.

Note 1: In Goodness Quest, Appreciation is practiced using 2 separate weapons (Appreciation Antenna & Zaadz Zoom) for incremental learning.

Note 2: Distinction between Gratitude & Appreciation

"Gratitude is an attitude, a state of consciousness where one is aware of the 'good' and 'positive' that is already present in one's life. It is about directing one's attention to seeing the positive aspect of a situation or person (including self), instead of what is 'bad'. Since we get more of what we focus on, the practice of gratitude would notice and attract to us more of what is 'good' (including possibilities, opportunities and solutions)."

"Appreciation goes beyond Gratitude. Becoming aware of and being grateful for what we already have/are is a basic requirement for happiness and successes. Expressing gratitude for what another person has done for us takes this one step further. But to really make a quantum leap calls for a sense of appreciation, which is the ability to look beyond what is immediately obvious, so that one may see ‘What Else is Possible?'

Appreciation is the ability to recognize and bring out the best in another (and self). It is about recognizing the SPARKS (potential) that are inherent in a person and to ignite these so that they may be shared with even more people. It is also about envisioning the future possibilities that are unfolding from the present situation."

Thanks for this great idea. Possibly, I could adapt it as an ongoing class activity for my summer communication class…

Done did it - much learning and insights… thanks again.
For one - though I do use these skills regularly it was interesting to actually track and odd to assign point values to them.
